There are four paths to healing: what you do, what you eat, how you think and what you take. But each of us is unique — one solution just won’t work for everyone.
Preventive cardiology is a process of evaluating each of these four paths and finding the right balance of solutions for each patient. Some may be able to eat a wide range of foods; some may have sensitivities that must be respected. Some patients may be able to increase their activity levels easily; others may have to gradually add movements that overcome physical restrictions. All of these variables — and many more — must be assessed in order to develop healing approaches that decrease the risk of heart disease.
The first step is one of discovery. When you arrive in our offices for your first visit, we’ll take the time to thoroughly review your medical history and your current concerns. We’ll also clarify your unique physical needs and any goals you’ve set for yourself. We’ll create a comprehensive testing plan to assess what your body needs and what you need to avoid. We’ll review your diet and review any food allergens. And we’ll begin to explore how your thoughts and feelings impact your stress levels and your health.
We’ll then begin to develop healing approaches for each of the four pathways: what you eat, what you take, what you do and how you think.

Too often, modern medicine stops at the prescription pad. When appropriate, medications and supplements can prevent and end disease. We employ medication, but only in the most effective and conservative fashion.
Stress and depression can increase the risk of heart disease and diminish the process of healing. We approach these issues with the same cautious, integrative methodology we apply to other paths to healing.
